Good afternoon Parents & Guardians of Niverville Middle School,

The 2020/21 school year is off to a great start!  As administrators and staff, we would like to thank all parents and guardians for their support and patience as we navigate this time of ever-changing expectations.

There are a few pieces of information we would like to clarify and explain to make sure everyone is on the same page. Please review and email with any questions you may have.

Arrival time for students who do not ride the bus should be no earlier than 8:55 whenever possible. Students will wait outside at their designated door for their teacher to escort them inside. Parents who are dropping students off are asked to avoid the bus loop and also NOT to use the south parking lot by the tennis courts. Instead, please use the adjacent streets or the Son City parking lot.

Students leaving campus for lunch are asked to stay off school property for the entire lunch hour. Lunch begins at 12:05. Please return at 1:00 and go to your designated entrance.

End of day dismissal will be adjusted slightly so we can lower the number of students congregating in one area at the end of the day.  Non-bus students will be dismissed at 3:35 and are asked to leave school grounds immediately, and not to wait in school property for friends. Bus students will be dismissed after that, depending on their bus number and pick up time.

If you have to pick up your child for an appointment, we ask that you call the main office upon your arrival and the secretary will call the student from class to meet you at your location. This will help to lessen the number of people in and out of the building each day.

If you are coming into the school, you will be asked to sign in at the office and, upon your departure, to note what parts of the building you had visited. This will help in the event we have to contact trace.

Strong Connections will still take place on Friday, Sept. 18th and Monday, Sept 21st.  Your child will attend one of those days and stay home the other day.  Please check your parent portal to see which day is assigned to your child.  Every effort has been made to match siblings both within the building and from NES.  If you notice a discrepancy, please contact the school office.

Annual permissions are on the parent portal.  If you have not already done so, please log on to ensure your child can participate in walks with his or her class as well as use computers within the building. Fees can also be paid while logged onto the portal.

We want to thank you once again for being flexible and patient.  As educators, we are excited to have students back in the building and we are making every effort to keep them safe.

Have a good weekend.
