Dear Parents/Caregivers and Students of NMS:

On behalf of our entire staff, we would like to extend a heartfelt “Welcome Back!” to all of you!  We hope that you are all healthy and excited about returning to school.  We know the last few months have been filled with much anxiety, apprehension and at times confusion for all of us.  Those feelings and sentiments are still very much present today during very uncertain times.  Despite all of the sacrifices families are having to make, one positive thing we can look forward to is welcoming all of our students back to Niverville Middle School.  Indeed, NMS will have a different feel and look when students return.  However, one piece that will still be the same is how much our staff truly care about our students.  We have been diligently planning and collaborating on best practices to ensure the safety and well-being for all of our kids.  This sentiment cannot be overstated.

Our NMS Reopening Plan 2020-2021 provides a synopsis of what can be expected in terms of safety protocols, structures and routines put in place to support academic and social-emotional engagement.  It is a fluid plan that is geared toward a seamless return to school in September and beyond.  However, there may be a need to make some adjustments as the school year progresses.  Should you have any questions or need clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

Our team of teachers, educational assistants, office and support staff are committed to keeping all of our students, your children, safe while they are in our care.  We are also committed to providing a learning environment that will support and enhance academic, intellectual, social and emotional engagement for all.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our Meet the Teacher event on Tuesday September 8th from 2:00pm-6:00pm.  Event details will be shared via email next week.

Sincerely,

Craig Cumming
